Livingroom is a proud supporter of The Guernsey Work Experience Scheme and have hosted numerous students and school leavers. Last week we were pleased to welcome Kirsty to our brand new offices and she enjoyed experiencing life at Livingroom House.

Caution remains the bedfellow of optimism.

The latest Guernsey Quarterly Residential Property Prices Bulletin, for Q2 2018, shows that the average price of a home in Guernsey is continuing to stabilise and reach a more realistic level. This is a reason to be optimistic, but buyers should still be aware that the market has its nuances.

Our growing team needed a new home so we're excited to announce we will be moving into 'Livingroom House' this week.

People move homes for loads of different reasons but needing more space is one of the most popular ones. Our ever-growing team needs a bit more room to ensure we continue to offer a quality customer experience and we've found the perfect office: Livingroom House.

This week we're moving into our fantastic standalone 4,000sq ft building in central St Peter Port. It's got underground parking, two floors of modern office accommodation - including generous meeting and conference facilities - and enough room for our 18 strong team of property professionals.

It’s amazing what you can wind up doing in a day working at Livingroom Estate Agents. Our team is hugely dedicated to finding homes for all islanders and recently that has extended to a feline friend called Lionel who Sophie Turian from our Local Market sales team encountered at a property.

We were selling a property and Sophie noticed that a black and white cat was always there; the owner said he wasn’t hers but he came around quite often. The new owners told us that the cat was still around, so Sophie decided he needed a home just as much as the happy new owners of the property.

After getting in touch with the amazing team at Animal Aid it was discovered that the cat is called Lionel and actually went missing from his first home in 2015! He was reunited with his original owners who were delighted that he was safe and well. Unfortunately, the owners’ circumstances have changed and they can no longer offer Lionel a home.

Helping islanders find their dream home is what drives the team here at Livingroom; so if you think you can provide a home to Lionel please get in touch with Animal Aid, they’d to love to hear from you.

When it comes to selling a home a vendor will generally do everything they can to make it look as good as possible; a new lick of paint or some well-chosen artwork can really elevate the appearance of a property and make the difference.

Our task at Livingroom is no different; we want to do our very best for our vendors and that means using every tool in our creative box to highlight all the qualities of the homes we're selling. At Livingroom, we have embraced the latest hi-tech equipment to portray some of the island's best homes in all of their glory.

This now includes virtual tours of selected properties in our portfolio. Although there is no better way to get a feel for a property than having a look around it, not all of our prospective buyers live in Guernsey so this presents a challenge. To help them, and often our busy locally based clients, we have integrated a platform that lets them wander round and explore properties virtually from wherever they are in the world.

Since starting Livingroom Estate Agents on my kitchen table with just a mobile phone and a computer it’s always been my intention to grow the company. Since our public launch in 2006 we have grown quite dramatically and taken considerable market share – even through tough climates and challenging times and of that I am immensely proud. Not only have we grown our team from one to 18 but we have also learnt a great deal along the way while developing a new, more considered presence for agency life on the island and helping to promote Guernsey to a wider audience.

We have embraced philanthropy in business and made considerable contributions of well in excess of £1,000,00 to local charities and causes. We’ve also won a few awards along the way, including Best Business in Guernsey at the Awards for Achievement, and were crowned as the world’s best at property marketing at the finals of the International Property Awards in London – quite simply, it was both humbling and incredible to think a small single office could win the highest of international accolades.

So, what’s next for Livingroom?
