Adam Powell Jodie Webber and Iain Baxter are playing on the
Centre Circle stage at the Guernsey Festival on Saturday! I can say
the sentence but it hasn't really sunk in what it means. We really
didn't expect to get a gig at the event where Macy Gray, Maverick
Sabre and Kaiser Chiefs are headlining. It all came about when we
put one of our two original songs on the Studio Jam Facebook
page.
When we entered Down and
lonely into the Studio Jam competition to play at the
festival we knew we were up against many excellent local bands most
of which were full bands with lots of original material. We said to
each other: "next year."
The festival organisers and Studio Jam judges contacted us to say
that theyhad picked a full band from Jersey and Guernsey to play on
the main stage but they were so impressed with our song that they
were offering us a spot on the Centre Circle stage!
We are very pleased and obviously now working hard to be on top
form! This is the first time we will be performing our own material
so it is very exciting.
The Guernsey Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, 23 and
24 June at the Rabbit Warren.
