There were 12 very happy islanders as the Livingroom House Lottery winning numbers were drawn at
a ceremony in Market Square on Thursday 20 October.
Livingroom Estate Agents ® founder and managing director, Simon Torode, compered the event and announced the total amount of money raised for Hope for a Child and three further local charities - a staggering £260,000!
All 5,000 tickets for the Livingroom House Lottery were sold and the first prize, won by ticket number 2617, was a stunning house forming part of the Infinity Gardens development worth £430,000.
The winner of the house, who has opted to remain anonymous, said: "We are so happy. It's life changing. We never win anything so this is just amazing and surreal, I am not sure it has sunk in just yet!"
Second prize was a brand new, midnight black, five-door Mini Cooper S worth £20,000 and 10 cash prizes of £1,000 were also awarded at the ceremony.
The other three charities to benefit from the lottery are The Hub, Action for Children and the Saumarez Park Playground Appeal. They will each receive substantial £10,000 donations from the proceeds.
Simon said: "The fact that the tickets sold out so early shows the public's incredible reaction to the lottery and we'd like to thank them for all their support. It's been hard work and tremendous fun running the lottery and Thursday's live draw event really was an amazing end to the campaign. Congratulations to all the winners today."
