When we listed La Hauteur in the beautiful rural parish of St Pierre du Bois last week we knew we had an exceptional property on our books; a traditional Guernsey cottage sitting in 2.15 acres of land above Rocquaine Bay with views of Lihou Island and the sea beyond doesn’t come to market that often.
The property is more than 200 years old but was listed with Livingroom for less than a day before an interested party put an offer on it.
As much as the house is a glimpse into Guernsey’s past, the deeds for the property are a historical document themselves as they are 218 years old and complete with traditional wax seal.
Just like La Hauteur, Guernsey has been modernised to make it fit for life in 2018 but retains a lot of its original charm, period details and fascinating history.
