A WARM WELCOME TO
THE LIVINGROOM FOUNDATION


The impact that businesses can make with their charitable activity can be especially pronounced in small, close-knit communities like the Channel Islands.

For us at Livingroom philanthropy has always been a key part of our ethos and a crucial means of supporting our vibrant and caring island homes. On behalf of our vendors, and in their name, we have made a charitable donation for every home sold to a local charity or community initiative since 2006. So far, we’ve contributed in helping raise over £1,000,000 for local causes, and know we’ve made a real difference.

In 2021, as we celebrate 15 years of Livingroom, we have now formalised our philanthropic beliefs and actions by launching The Livingroom Foundation, a non-profit Channel Island charitable foundation.

By using our team skill set of Channel Island networking, design, marketing and promotion, The Livingroom Foundation will work towards raising island-specific funds which will be distributed in the island of their origination. Jersey property sales will benefit Jersey charities and vice versa for Guernsey. Where a charity or beneficial organisation operates as a pan-island entity, both islands will contribute.

THE LIVINGROOM HOUSE LOTTERY

“'The Livingroom House lottery will really help increase the scale and impact of our project in Malawi enabling families to become more resilient to the hardships they face. The funds raised through this house lottery will make the country stronger.'”

We gave islanders the chance to win life changing prizes in 2016 to celebrate our 10thanniversary. All 5,000 tickets, worth £150 each, were sold and the first prize was a stunning house worth £430,000.

Second prize was a brand new Mini Cooper S worth £20,000 and 10 cash prizes of £1,000 were also awarded. The total money raised by the lottery was an incredible £260,000 which was donated to Guernsey-registered charity, Hope for a Child. The Hub, Action for Children and the Saumarez Park Playground Appeal each received substantial £10,000 donations from the proceeds. The public’s reaction to the lottery was incredible and we’d like to thank everyone for their generous support.

THE HUB

Simon is a co-founder of Guernsey charity YPG (Young People Guernsey) which was formed to identify and respond to the needs of young people in the Bailiwick. YPG has now developed further and has become ‘The Youth Commission’, working across both Guernsey and Alderney to deliver the highest quality provision for young people across our islands.  

YPG worked in partnership with Barnardo’s and commissioned them to establish The HUB - an information, advice and guidance centre in St. Peter Port for young people aged 11-16 years – which is now thriving. The partnership has been an important and significant development for young people in Guernsey. YPG has now developed further and has become ‘The Youth Commission’, working across the Bailwick to deliver the highest quality provision for young people across our islands. 

The evolution has ensured that more young people have access to shape and engage with positive activities that support their personal and social development. 

Livingroom has helped The HUB through fundraising and charitable donations from property sales.
